Electronic Funds Transfer for Ohio Dentists

Ohio law R.C. §3901.381 requires third-party payers (such as Aetna) to transmit payments electronically to a contracted provider who sends electronic claims. Using Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) is a great complement to sending electronic claims. If you send claims electronically, Ohio law requires us to ask you to either enroll in EFT, or sign an opt-out form stating you don't want to enroll in EFT.

By enrolling in EFT you'll enjoy:

  • Prompt, secure electronic payments right to your bank account(s).
  • Reduced mail coming to your office, which can save your staff time.
  • More effective business management. You'll save paper and have an easy audit trail.
  • Safety — you won't have the threat of lost or stolen checks.
